He met Constantin Schünemann at Helpling, the marketplace for cleaning services, where he was the company’s Global CFO and had to deal with spreadsheets daily. They struggled with keeping the company’s financial model and business case up-to-date at all times, which had tens of different tabs and hundreds of roles of assumptions, and the lack of tools that offer a solution. That’s when the idea of Layer was born, a platform bringing in a range of granular and version controls to your Excel files and Google Sheets.
